We all love cheese!! At least most of us do. And I love it and little bit too much. Cheese balls is a favourite with most kids, isn’t? All moms probably have their own versions that they make at home. My version here is super simple and quick. Contains no breadcrumbs or potato or anything fancy. But it does have a secret ingredient which gives it that extra cheesy flavour. I am sure you are salivating already, so I am going to go ahead and share this wonderful recipe.
- Mix together in a bowl flour, salt (if using), baking powder, baking soda and pizza seasoning.
- Now add in the pizza cheese, corn and jalapeños. Mix well.
- Add in the spread cheese and mix well. Use 1-3 tsp water to help form a DRY dough and not a sticky one.
- Heat oil on medium high in a heavy bottom pan.
- Using water, roll out small even shaped cheese balls.
- Once the oil is hot, lower the heat and drop each of the cheese balls.
- Increase heat as needed and fry them for 1 1/2 - 2 minutes or till golden brown.
- Remove, dab on a kitchen paper and serve hot with ketchup.
- You can use chopped capsicum, grated carrot and corn instead of jalapeno and corn.
- Best served hot.
- Make sure the oil isn’t too hot or the cheese balls with brown from the outside and remain under cooked from the inside.
- You will get 10-12 cheese balls from this quantity.
- You can scale up the recipe as needed.
- In case you don’t have baking powder, you can skip it. But baking soda is needed.
